What does full-service include?

Our full-service packages include staffing for the transport, setup of all food and beverage areas before your event, replenishment and service throughout your event, in addition to the cleanup of all catering-related areas both during and upon conclusion of your event. Our goal is to relieve you of the many details that go along with hosting a successful party so that both you and your guests can thoroughly enjoy this special event.

The Buffalo Catering Co. has many trusted years of experience both managing and executing events throughout the WNY area. We take pride in thoroughly reviewing all day-of details with our clients in advance to ensure your event is set up and executed to our high standards. Our staffing numbers and timeframes will always be identified as a separate line item on your catering estimate and final order.

What is included in the administrative fee for a full-service event?

While a catering order may show a breakdown of the event elements and their costs, the administrative fee helps cover the cost of the hours and supplies needed to prepare and plan the event. Our administrative fee covers all the back-end costs that go into the event aside from the food and labor itself. In addition, we do not charge for site visits, meetings, order consultations, layout designs, multiple deliveries, etc. This fee offsets all these costs to ensure our clients aren’t worried about asking for help in these areas. We like to ensure that the planning process is as easy as possible with nothing to worry about once you have us on board.

The administrative fee does not include event staff gratuity, as we prefer to leave that option up to the discretion of our event hosts. A gratuity of any amount is never expected by our event staff, but is always appreciated if a host chooses to include that.

I’m interested in booking your catering services for my upcoming event but am unsure of my menu selections.  Do you offer menu tastings?

After preparing your initial catering estimate or order, we would be happy to provide a tasting to help finalize any menu selections for your upcoming event. Our custom menu tastings are held in our catering kitchen and include (3) entrees + (3) side dishes. Menu tastings are prepared for (2) guests and cost at $40/person. That amount is to help cover food costs and our chef’s time. Payment for the tasting is due at the time of tasting. If you choose to book The Buffalo Catering Co. for your event, that amount will be deducted from the final catering bill.

Our Policies

  • (72) hour notice is preferred for all catering orders. Approval of last-minute orders will be based on availability.
  • Catering requests received under our (72) hour minimum are subject to an increased administrative fee. Late order menu costs are subject to vary based on each request.
  • A 10% deposit and signed catering agreement is required for all large events.
  • Final headcount for all events is due (5) days prior to the event date, after which count may increase but not decrease. When table linens or linen napkins are being ordered, we require a final table layout and guest count (14) days prior to the event date.
  • All catering deliveries within a (5) mile radius of our kitchen are subject to a 15% delivery and set-up fee. Delivery locations outside of that travel radius may be subject to a higher delivery rate.
  • Please allow a delivery window of (15) minutes before and after specified delivery time due to unknown weather and traffic conditions.
  • Delivery minimum is $200 for a la carte orders. If an a la carte order is under the minimum, a surcharge will be added.
  • All full-service, on-site events are subject to an administrative fee that may range between 18-25%. This fee is based on the extent of your event and will be identified as a separate line item on your catering order.
  • Following health and safety regulations in the State of New York, catering staff will remove all remaining perishable food items from the event upon the conclusion of meal service. Any non-perishable items (i.e. baked goods) may be taken at your discretion. The Buffalo Catering Co. does not provide to-go containers for these items. This policy applies to full-service catering only and does not apply to delivery or pick-up catering orders.
  • In the event of a cancellation, you will be responsible for any costs incurred up to the time of cancellation. 100% of the estimated charges will be assessed if the cancellation occurs less than (24) hours prior to the event.
  • Payment is due (48) hours prior to your event for full-service catering packages.
  • Payment is due upon order receipt for delivery or pick-up orders.
  • We accept cash, check, AMEX, Visa, Mastercard, Discover for payment. Corporate accounts are welcome.
  • A 4% convenience fee will be applied to any catering payments made with a credit card.  This fee will be excluded on any invoices paid via cash, check or EFT.
  • A credit card number may be requested for incidentals.
